It’s Friday the 1st of December which means I can finally be on full Christmas mood without being judged for it. And yes, that includes blasting christmas carols whenever I feel like but since I don’t like singing solo, you’re going to do it with me: 1, 2, 3, here we go!
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Fa-la-la-la, la-la-la
‘Tis the season to be jolly
Fa-la-la-la, la-la-la
Did you do it or is that an eye roll you’re giving me? Because let me tell you that’s a very popular Christmas carol, plus it’s one of the cutest ones.
Back to the point, Christmas Season has officially started, everyone is on the holiday hype and it’s one of the happiest times of the year. Unless you don’t really like it, then probably it’s just a regular month for you I guess. However, since it is a big deal for me, I figured I’ll tell you all about why this is my favorite holiday and what makes it so special to me.
Anyway, all clichés aside I do believe Christmas is the most beautiful time of the year, and not only because JB says it, but because people really change and more often than not they try to be kind and nice towards each other. Everyone seems to be on a happier mood which probably has to do with the fact that we have more reasons to be with our family and be grateful for what we have and actually demonstrate our feeling of joy. Unless is the 24th and you’re buying some last-minute presents, then be prepared to fight for the items you want, but that’s another story.
Also, and this is most likely the same for everyone, is one the few times where my complete family gathers just for the joy of being together, celebrate that we have each other, show our love and just have an amazing time. Besides, all the effort we put while organizing, doing the whole preparations, and decorating the house is a whole event by itself. And yes, some people might say it’s something that doesn’t really matters but to me it shows that we care for our family, whereas it’s making sure that the side dishes are all dairy-free for that cousin that is allergic or arranging the seats so everyone is comfortable at the table or making sure that everyone is enjoying themselves.
Finally and needless to say, most of my happiest and funniest memories were made on Christmas. Like that one year when my dad and one of my uncles spent 3 whole hours trying to blow an inflatable pool toy because they couldn’t find the air pump and were determined to have the toy set up. Or the countless times when my mom and aunt try to change a bit some of the sides and ultimately didn’t because everyone wanted to make sure their favorite would make the cut. Or just sitting with my family and talking about everything and anything enjoying our company and realizing how bless I am for having them by my side.
Now you know why I love this holiday so much and since there is still almost a month before the day arrives, be prepared to see more Christmas content in here.
Love,
Dani
