So I’m finally 20. I’ve been on this planet for 20 years.
Two whole decades!
After trying to avoid at all costs to even think about the fact that I’m turning 20 I honestly thought it would feel like something major was happening. Like arriving to a quite expected destination whose trip I’d been delaying for a long time. However, that wasn’t the case at all. Indeed I’m getting older and I’m quite aware of it but as the previous years it just feels natural. Besides having people congratulating me both on social media and in person and being in another country, it’s just a normal day and I’m fine with that.
Probably it’s because I’m more focused on enjoying the different experiences that travelling brings or because this time around March 10’s routine is not happening and nothing is similar to what I’d expect on this day. Anyway, the 20’s crisis has been averted!
So as cheesy as it may sound, the saying it’s true. We have to enjoy the journey as much as the destination and as of now the journey has taken me to Europe to spend my birthday far from home but surrounded with the nicest group of people I could have met.
And there it is: I’m finally 20, travelling around Europe and as happy and grateful as someone can be and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
